How to Add Custom Blocks to the Shopify Order Status Page
What you will achieve in this guide
Follow the feature-specific setup and testing instructions below. Check the supported pages and plan requirements before activating the feature.
Thank you and Order status are separate pages after the original order is placed. Configure and place compatible Rivio blocks on each page you want to customize.
How this feature works
Thank you is the immediate confirmation after checkout. Order status is the order view customers can revisit. Configure and place content on each intended page separately; placement on one does not place it on the other. Use a completed test order to verify these surfaces.
Before you begin
Checkout-step visual blocks require Shopify Plus. Supported Thank you and Order status blocks are available on Basic and higher. Check the page labels on the block’s Rivio card; a card does not necessarily support every page.
Worked example: Add store support details to a returning order view
Example setup: A completed test order and a working merchant support address.
Step-by-step instructions
Open UI extension blocks and choose Contact information with Order status listed on its card.
Enter your real merchant support email and any supported phone/hours; save as Active.
Open Shopify’s editor and select Order status for the intended configuration.
Place the matching Rivio contact block and select the configuration if prompted; save.
Open the completed order’s status link and verify the contact details.
For the customer-account article, also sign in as the customer who owns the order and verify its supported account order-status view.
Verify the result
| Test case | Expected result or verification |
|---|---|
| Returning order-status visit | The saved contact block appears. |
| Support email selected | It targets the merchant support address. |
| Condition requiring selected shipping method | Do not rely on that input on Order status. |
Important: Thank you, account Profile, and Order status are distinct placements. Test the exact view linked from your demonstration.
If the result is different
| Check | What it means / what to do |
|---|---|
| Appears on the wrong confirmation/order view | Select and save placement on the exact Thank you or Order status page. |
| Preview works but real order does not | Test with an actual completed order matching the configured conditions. |
| Offer purchase result is unclear | Follow the displayed action and verify the resulting purchase instead of assuming the original paid order is modified. |
