How to Schedule Checkout Validation Rules
What you will achieve in this guide
Follow the feature-specific setup and testing instructions below. Check the supported pages and plan requirements before activating the feature.
Use Active from, Active until, and Active days to limit when an active validation is eligible to run. Scheduling does not activate a Draft rule or change its invalid-case condition.
How this feature works
A validation describes an invalid checkout state and shows an actionable error when that state matches. Checkout completion evaluates at Pay now; Checkout interaction can provide earlier evaluation when selected. Active status, schedule, and run location all matter. A rule with no conditions can affect every checkout.
Before you begin
Open Apps > Rivio Checkout Customizer in the intended store. Prepare the cart, customer, products, address, or order needed by the example, and check the feature’s supported inputs before activating it.
Worked example: Schedule a validation for chosen days
Example setup: A demo validation and a date range selected in the displayed app/store schedule context.
Step-by-step instructions
Open the validation and verify its invalid-case condition and error message before setting the schedule.
Under Schedule, enter Active from for the intended start and Active until for the intended end.
Select Active days, such as Monday through Friday, if the rule should apply only on those days.
Leave a date boundary blank only when you intend an open-ended range. Check the date/time context the UI displays.
Select the intended Run location, save, and set Active.
Test an invalid checkout inside the range on an included day, then outside the range or on an excluded day in your test setup.
At the start/end boundary, verify the actual behavior before promising a specific inclusive cutoff.
Verify the result
| Test case | Expected result or verification |
|---|---|
| Invalid checkout inside range on selected day | The active rule enforces at its chosen run location. |
| Outside range or excluded day | The schedule should exclude this rule. |
| Draft status during included period | A schedule does not activate a Draft rule. |
Important: Do not infer UTC or another timezone from an example; use the context displayed in your own store/app.
If the result is different
| Check | What it means / what to do |
|---|---|
| Never fires | Check Active status, included dates/days, matching invalid inputs, and Run location. |
| Blocks everyone | Inspect empty conditions or an overly broad any/OR branch. |
| Still blocks after correction | Retest the same amount/product/address basis and review other active validations. |
