How to Show or Hide Shopify Shipping Methods Based on Conditions
What you will achieve in this guide
Follow the feature-specific setup and testing instructions below. Check the supported pages and plan requirements before activating the feature.
Shipping rules hide, rename, or reorder delivery methods returned by your store’s shipping settings.
How this feature works
Shipping customizations act on eligible delivery rates returned for the current products and destination. Hide removes a matched rate, Rename changes its label, and Reorder changes supported positions. They do not create rates, change carrier service, or reduce shipping charges; use a shipping discount for price changes.
Before you begin
Open Apps > Rivio Checkout Customizer in the intended store. Prepare the cart, customer, products, address, or order needed by the example, and check the feature’s supported inputs before activating it.
Worked example: Make a shipping option conditional
Example setup: Express and Standard normally available for an Indian test address.
Step-by-step instructions
Open Shipping customizations and choose Hide for the exact Express rate.
Add Shipping country equals India and use that value from the supported selector.
If your goal is instead Express only in India, define the hide condition for countries outside India using the supported operator.
Review every condition and its all/any mode before activating.
Save, activate, and compare Indian and non-Indian addresses that would normally receive Express.
Check that at least one suitable delivery option remains for each supported checkout.
Verify the result
| Test case | Expected result or verification |
|---|---|
| Hide-in-India rule with Indian address | Express is removed. |
| Hide-in-India rule with eligible non-Indian address | Express remains. |
| Express-only-in-India goal | The opposite eligibility condition is needed; hiding in India would reverse the goal. |
If the result is different
| Check | What it means / what to do |
|---|---|
| Rate absent before the rule applies | Check product shipping profile, shipping zone, destination, and normal rate thresholds. |
| Rate label changed | Update the match to the actual returned rate name. |
| Unexpected visibility | Check all active shipping rules and the exact condition/operator, keeping at least one eligible delivery option. |
