TECHNICAL DIFFICULTY Zero Code Required

Hide an eligible shipping rate for a particular destination or other supported checkout condition. This example hides Express delivery for Indian shipping addresses.

How this feature works

Shipping customizations act on eligible delivery rates returned for the current products and destination. Hide removes a matched rate, Rename changes its label, and Reorder changes supported positions. They do not create rates, change carrier service, or reduce shipping charges; use a shipping discount for price changes.

Before you begin

Open Apps > Rivio Checkout Customizer in the intended store. Prepare the cart, customer, products, address, or order needed by the example, and check the feature’s supported inputs before activating it.

Worked example: Hide Express delivery for Indian shipping addresses

Example setup: A shippable product and an Express rate normally eligible for the test address.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open Shipping customizations and create a Hide rule named Hide Express in India.

  2. Select the exact Express rate. If several profiles use that label, confirm the intended rate for this cart.

  3. Add Shipping country equals India, using the country value offered by the editor.

  4. Save and activate. Keep an eligible alternative such as Standard delivery.

  5. Test with an Indian address and a second address where Express is normally eligible.

Verify the result

Test case Expected result or verification
Indian address Express is hidden and the alternative eligible rate remains.
Address outside India Express remains available when that rate normally serves the address.

Important: If the outside-India checkout has no Express rate, check zones, shipping profiles, and product eligibility before treating it as a rule failure.

If the result is different

Check What it means / what to do
Rate absent before the rule applies Check product shipping profile, shipping zone, destination, and normal rate thresholds.
Rate label changed Update the match to the actual returned rate name.
Unexpected visibility Check all active shipping rules and the exact condition/operator, keeping at least one eligible delivery option.
