How to Uninstall Rivio Checkout Customizer from Shopify

Uninstall Rivio through Shopify’s app settings, then review the checkout and account experiences where it was used. Record needed settings first; do not assume removed app data is recoverable.

Before you begin

Use the intended Shopify store and an admin account with permission to manage its apps. Record any settings you need before uninstalling.

Worked example: Uninstall and review the remaining store experience

Example setup: A test store with a Rivio banner and a recorded copy of its settings.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Record the active features and any configuration you may need later. Do not assume uninstall preserves recoverable app settings.

  2. In Shopify Settings > Apps and sales channels, open Rivio Checkout Customizer and choose Uninstall.

  3. Complete Shopify’s uninstall flow, then reopen a customer checkout and account/order-status page used by your configuration.

  4. Review the saved layouts and relevant Shopify products or discount records created during setup; uninstall is not a command to delete your order history or catalog.

  5. If you reinstall, verify the configuration from the beginning instead of assuming all prior data will return.

Verify the result

Important: Shopify sends shop/redact no earlier than 48 hours after uninstall, and it may not send it if reinstallation occurs first. This is not a promise of deletion at exactly 48 hours.

If the result is different

App removed Review the previously used checkout/account surfaces and separately created Shopify records.
Need previous settings Do not assume uninstall preserves recoverable app data. Record needed settings before removal.

App data after uninstall

Shopify sends shop/redact no earlier than 48 hours after uninstall. Rivio deletes its stored shop data when that request is received. Reinstalling before the request can prevent the uninstall redaction event. This is not a guarantee of deletion at exactly 48 hours or recovery of previous settings.
