How to Add Rivio Checkout Customizer Blocks to the Shopify Checkout Editor
What you will achieve in this guide
Follow the feature-specific setup and testing instructions below. Check the supported pages and plan requirements before activating the feature.
Configure a visual block in Rivio, then place the matching app block on a supported page in Shopify’s Checkout and Accounts Editor. Both saves are required.
How this feature works
Rivio separates function-based rules, visual blocks, offers, account features, and branding. Choose the feature that solves your immediate goal. Configure it in Rivio, complete its activation or editor-placement requirement, then test a matching and a non-matching customer case before combining it with other features.
Before you begin
Open Apps > Rivio Checkout Customizer in the intended store. Prepare the cart, customer, products, address, or order needed by the example, and check the feature’s supported inputs before activating it.
Worked example: Configure and place a single banner end to end
Example setup: A Shopify Plus store for checkout placement, or a supported Thank you page on Basic or higher.
Step-by-step instructions
Open UI extension blocks > Custom banner and create a configuration named Dispatch message.
Enter Orders ship within 2 business days, choose an informational tone, and leave display conditions empty for the first test.
Save the configuration as Active. Note which pages its card supports.
Open the Checkout and Accounts Editor and choose the intended configuration and exact target page.
Use Add app block in a supported location, select the matching Rivio banner, and select the saved configuration if prompted.
Save the editor. Test the actual page using a checkout or completed order appropriate to that surface.
Edit the message in Rivio and save; verify the content change without removing and recreating the placement.
Verify the result
| Test case | Expected result or verification |
|---|---|
| Saved in Rivio only | Configuration exists but has no guaranteed customer placement. |
| Saved in Rivio and editor | The active banner appears on the supported target page. |
| Banner set to Draft | The saved configuration is not an active customer-facing message. |
If the result is different
| Check | What it means / what to do |
|---|---|
| Cannot find a feature | Check the current Shopify plan and the feature’s supported page labels. |
| Saved setup has no customer result | Complete the feature’s activation or supported editor-placement step. |
| Several features interact unexpectedly | Test one at a time, then repeat the combined customer flow with the same cart/customer context. |
