How to Prefill Customer Details and Discounts in Cart & Checkout Links

Cart and checkout links prefill selected variants and quantities for campaigns or individual buyers.

Before you begin

Open the correct store in Shopify admin and go to Apps > Rivio Checkout Customizer. Use an internal configuration name that clearly describes its purpose.

Set up the feature

  1. Open Cart & checkout links from Rivio’s feature navigation and create a new link.
  2. Enter an internal Link name. Add the products or variants and quantities that the buyer should receive.
  3. Choose Cart link to open the cart, or Checkout link to continue directly to checkout.
  4. Optionally enter an existing Shopify discount code. If needed, prefill the customer email, shipping address, and order note fields shown in the form.
  5. Review the Generated cart link as it updates. Save the link to retain it in your list, then copy it.

How it works

A link does not reserve inventory, create a discount code, or bypass checkout validations. An attached discount must already exist and remain eligible. Use links without customer details for public campaigns; personally prefilled links should be sent only to the intended buyer.

Test your setup

Open the link in a fresh browsing session and check the variants, quantities, destination, and discount. Continue to checkout to verify eligibility and availability.

Important notes

Do not post a link containing a customer’s email or shipping address in public ads or social bios. Check currency and Markets behavior in the destination checkout.
