How to Prepare Payment, Shipping, and Validation Rules with Sidekick

Rivio’s Sidekick integration lets you ask about setup, active rules, blocks, offers, plan information, validations, and analytics. For supported creation requests, Sidekick returns a link to a pre-filled Rivio form. Review the fields and save in Rivio to apply a change.

How this feature works

Sidekick can inspect Rivio setup and prepare supported configurations. Creation requests return a link to a prefilled Rivio form; they do not save the configuration. Review and save in Rivio, activate when intended, and add editor placement where the feature requires it. A read-only answer does not replace an end-to-end checkout test.

Before you begin

Open Rivio in the correct Shopify admin and use its available Sidekick entry point. Review prepared changes before saving. Shopify Plus is still required for Plus-only target features.

Worked example: Prepare a COD limit through Sidekick

Example setup: Cash on Delivery method and a test store using INR for the example.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Ask Hide cash on delivery for orders over 10,000 INR.

  2. Open the returned form and confirm it is a Hide payment customization for the actual COD method.

  3. Check greater than 10000, the amount basis, INR context, and any pre-filled status or customer conditions.

  4. Confirm nothing was saved just from sending the prompt, then save and activate in Rivio when intended.

  5. Test amounts 10000 and 10001 using the rule’s stated basis and an eligible alternative payment method.

  6. For shipping, try Hide Express shipping in India and review the exact rate and country.

  7. For validation, try Require a minimum order of $30 and verify the invalid condition is less than 30 with an actionable error.

Verify the result

Important: Shop Pay ordering still depends on the Shopify payment surface; a prepared form cannot guarantee express buttons reorder.

If the result is different

Check What it means / what to do
Prefilled form is wrong Specify exact products/variants, payment or rate names, amount/currency, conditions, and target page.
No customer-facing change after prompt Review and save the prepared form in Rivio; add required editor placement separately.
Duplicate or unexpected response Check existing records before saving and report the exact prompt/response to support.
