Which Shopify Checkout Customizations Require Shopify Plus?

Checkout-step UI blocks, checkout upsells, the supplied auto-add gift feature, PromoLock, and Rivio advanced branding require Shopify Plus. Supported Thank you/Order status blocks are available on Basic and higher, subject to each block’s listed pages.

Before you begin

Open Apps > Rivio Checkout Customizer in the intended store. Prepare the cart, customer, products, address, or order needed by the example, and check the feature’s supported inputs before activating it.

Worked example: Choose features your store can use

Example setup: The store’s current Shopify plan and the feature cards/Pricing page in Rivio.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Check your Shopify subscription in admin, then open Rivio’s Pricing and feature overview.

  2. Separate the Shopify platform plan from the Rivio app plan; an app entitlement cannot unlock a Plus-only platform surface.

  3. For a non-Plus demo, choose a supported Thank you banner or function-based shipping rule rather than a checkout-step UI block.

  4. For a Plus demo, choose a checkout upsell, auto-add gift, PromoLock, or advanced branding and verify the feature is available.

  5. Follow the selected feature’s guide, activate it, and place a block only when that feature requires one.

  6. Test on the named customer surface and retain the plan context beside your demonstration.

Important: Do not infer current app prices from a Shopify plan. Read the app’s current Pricing screen for charges or entitlements.

If the result is different
