How to display a block after a customer spends time on a page
What you will achieve in this guide
Follow the feature-specific setup and testing instructions below. Check the supported pages and plan requirements before activating the feature.
Configure the supported Time on page display condition and test its timing on the intended page.
When to use this guide
Use this when information should appear after a customer has spent time on a supported page.
Before you begin
Use a test customer and order that you can identify. Confirm the feature is active, placed on a supported page, and included in your Rivio plan.
Worked example
Show a support message after the example threshold offered by the condition editor; record its displayed unit.
Step-by-step instructions
- Choose an eligible block and confirm its supported target page.
- Enter the support message and add Time on page using the operator and unit displayed by the editor.
- Save the active configuration and matching editor placement.
- Open the actual customer page in a fresh session and record whether the message appears before the threshold.
- Keep the page open through the threshold and observe the result.
- Navigate away, revisit, and reload in separate tests. Record the observed timer reset behaviour rather than assuming it persists.

Verify the result
| Test | Expected result or check |
|---|---|
| Before threshold | Visibility follows the configured comparison. |
| After threshold | The eligible block can become visible. |
| Reload or return visit | Verify timing starts or persists according to actual behaviour. |

Limitations
- Time on page is not the age of an order.
- Timer behaviour must be tested on the intended surface and device.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| The expected result does not appear | Check the saved state, exact feature configuration, supported page, and matching test inputs. |
| The preview and actual page differ | Use a real test checkout, completed order, or signed-in account; editor data is simulated. |
| A change has an unexpected effect | Repeat the same test with one relevant setting changed. Review other active rules before adding another copy. |
