Shopify Checkout Customization Not Showing? How to Fix It
What you will achieve in this guide
Follow the feature-specific setup and testing instructions below. Check the supported pages and plan requirements before activating the feature.
Start by identifying whether the issue affects a function-based rule, a visual block, an offer, or branding. The checks depend on the feature.
How this feature works
Identify the affected feature and customer surface before changing settings. Function-based rules need activation and matching inputs; visual features also need a saved editor placement. Branding needs the correct configuration. Change one setting at a time and repeat the same test to see which change solves the issue.
Before you begin
Open Apps > Rivio Checkout Customizer in the intended store. Prepare the cart, customer, products, address, or order needed by the example, and check the feature’s supported inputs before activating it.
Worked example: Trace a missing customization to its correct setup layer
Example setup: An active banner intended for checkout or a supported post-checkout page.
Troubleshooting steps
Identify the feature type: a visual block needs placement; a payment/shipping/discount/validation function needs its rule activation; branding needs the intended configuration.
For the banner, check that the card supports the page and your Shopify plan supports that surface.
Open its saved Rivio configuration and verify Active status and the intended content.
Open the correct Shopify configuration and target page; confirm the matching block is present and editor changes are saved.
Use a real matching cart/order/customer session. Check conditions, logged-in tag context, and surface-specific input availability.
If it is visible in the control case but hidden in another, compare only the condition inputs before changing the placement.
Verify the result
| Test case | Expected result or verification |
|---|---|
| Active banner without placement | Add and save the matching block. |
| Placed banner with non-matching condition | Use the intended qualifying session or correct the condition. |
| Function rule missing a content block | Do not add an unrelated block; check that rule’s activation and matching inputs. |
Important: Keep screenshots of the Rivio form, Shopify page selection, and actual customer result when requesting help.
If the result is different
| Check | What it means / what to do |
|---|---|
| Function-based rule is ineffective | Check activation, exact scope, conditions, and test inputs. |
| Visual block is missing | Check saved Active configuration, supported surface, and editor placement. |
| Problem remains after one correction | Gather the actual customer result, relevant settings, and repeatable cart/order details for support. |
