How to schedule a discount campaign and verify its start and end behaviour
What you will achieve in this guide
Follow the feature-specific setup and testing instructions below. Check the supported pages and plan requirements before activating the feature.
Set the available scheduling controls for a discount and test whether it applies during the intended period.
When to use this guide
Use this for a timed promotion whose eligibility and benefit are already configured.
Before you begin
Open Apps → Rivio Checkout Customizer in the intended store. Use supported conditions from the current editor and record the exact amount, product, customer, or address basis before testing.
Worked example
Use a demo promotion with a short test window in the date and time context shown by your app or store.
Step-by-step instructions
- Configure and verify the discount’s benefit and eligibility first.
- Open its scheduling controls and record the displayed date/time context.
- Set the intended start and end using the controls actually supplied by that discount editor.
- Save and confirm the discount is active in Rivio and Shopify. A schedule does not replace activation.
- Run the same eligible checkout before, within, and after the window. Verify exact boundary behaviour before announcing a cutoff.
- Check Shopify’s saved discount status if the observed eligibility differs from the schedule.

Verify the result
| Test | Expected result or check |
|---|---|
| Inside window | The active eligible discount can apply. |
| Outside window | The promotion should be excluded by its schedule. |
| Inactive discount | A scheduled period does not activate it. |

Limitations
- Do not infer UTC from an example.
- Supported schedule controls can differ by feature.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| The expected result does not appear | Check the saved state, exact feature configuration, supported page, and matching test inputs. |
| The preview and actual page differ | Use a real test checkout, completed order, or signed-in account; editor data is simulated. |
| A change has an unexpected effect | Repeat the same test with one relevant setting changed. Review other active rules before adding another copy. |
