How to Add, Edit, Reorder, and Remove Fields

What you will achieve in this guide

Follow this step-by-step documentation to configure custom B2B registration forms, approval workflows, and customer tagging.

EXPECTED SETUP TIME 5-10 Minutes
COMPATIBILITY All Shopify Themes & Plans
TECHNICAL DIFFICULTY Zero Code Required

Use the drag-and-drop builder to organize Shopify wholesale registration questions and remove fields you do not need.

Before you begin

Open the intended form in the builder and identify what the answer will be used for: review only, field mapping, a visibility condition, or an approval rule. Choose the answer type before configuring those dependencies.

How field changes affect the workflow

The builder lets you add a type, edit its configuration, drag it into a new position, and remove it. The live preview reflects your working layout, but the changes are not stored until you select Save.

Before deleting a field, inspect conditions, mappings, and approval rules that use it. Moving questions can improve comprehension without changing the approval policy; deleting a qualification question may require changing that policy.

Set up this workflow

  1. Open the form in the builder.

  2. Select Add field and choose a field type.

  3. Expand or edit the field to configure its label, help text, and options.

  4. Drag the field by its reorder handle to move it.

  5. Remove unnecessary fields with the field delete action, reviewing any related rules.

  6. Save and preview the form to confirm the order and remaining questions.

Example

Add Business name and Email to a test form, move Email above Business name, and remove an unused Paragraph field.

Expected result

The saved preview and storefront show the new order without the removed question.

Limits and important behavior

  • Builder changes are not saved until you select Save.
  • Review conditional rules, mappings, and approval rules after removing a referenced field.

Troubleshooting and verification

If an answer is missing, confirm the field is on the saved form and was visible for the applicant’s answers. If a rule does not offer the expected operator, check the field type: text and numbers support different comparisons.

Screenshots to add

Screenshot placeholder: Capture the relevant app screen for “How to Add, Edit, Reorder, and Remove Fields” after completing the setup. Show the controls used to open the form in the builder. Add a second screenshot showing the result of this check: Save and preview the form to confirm the order and remaining questions. Use dummy applicant details and mask any secrets.
