Fields

Updated August 13, 2026

Rivio B2B Registration Forms provides a variety of field types to help you collect the right information from customers, wholesalers, retailers, and business applicants. You can choose the field that best matches the type of information you want to collect and customize your form based on your business needs.

Below is an overview of each available field type.

1. Text Field

The Text Field is used to collect short, simple text responses from applicants.

Common uses:

  • Business name
  • First name
  • Last name
  • Job title
  • Store name
  • Tax ID

Example:
Business Name: [________________]

Use a text field when you expect the applicant to enter a short answer.

2. Email Field

The Email Field is designed to collect an applicant's email address.

It validates the entered value as an email address, helping ensure that applicants provide a valid email format.

Common uses:

  • Business email
  • Contact email
  • Account email

Example:
Email: [name@example.com]

3. Phone Number Field

The Phone Number Field allows applicants to provide their contact number.

It can be used to collect phone numbers for business owners, purchasing managers, sales contacts, or other representatives.

Common uses:

  • Business phone
  • Contact number
  • Sales representative phone

Example:
Phone Number: [________________]

4. Number Field

The Number Field is used when you need applicants to enter a numeric value.

Common uses:

  • Estimated annual purchase volume
  • Number of stores
  • Number of locations
  • Years in business
  • Expected order quantity

Example:
Number of Stores: [____]

Use this field when the response should contain a number rather than general text.

5. Text Area

The Text Area is useful for collecting longer responses or additional information.

Unlike a standard text field, it provides more space for applicants to enter detailed answers.

Common uses:

  • Business description
  • Additional comments
  • Wholesale requirements
  • Product requirements
  • Additional information

Example:
Tell us more about your business:

[________________________________]
[________________________________]

6. Dropdown

The Dropdown field allows applicants to select one option from a predefined list.

This is useful when you want to keep responses consistent and easy to review.

Common uses:

  • Annual purchase volume
  • Business type
  • How did you hear about us?
  • Number of locations
  • Country or region

Example:
Estimated Annual Purchase Volume: [ Select ▼ ]

Applicants can choose from the options you provide.

7. Radio Buttons

Radio Buttons allow applicants to select one option from a list of choices.

They are useful when you want applicants to clearly see all available options without opening a dropdown.

Common uses:

  • Yes / No questions
  • Purchasing tax-exempt?
  • Business type
  • Preferred contact method

Example:

Are you purchasing tax-exempt for resale?

  • Yes
  • No

Only one option can be selected.

8. Checkboxes

Checkboxes allow applicants to select one or more options from a list.

Use checkboxes when multiple answers may apply to the applicant.

Common uses:

  • Product categories of interest
  • Services required
  • Preferred sales channels
  • Communication preferences

Example:

Which product categories are you interested in?

  • Clothing
  • Accessories
  • Footwear
  • Other

Applicants can select multiple options.

9. Date Picker

The Date Picker allows applicants to select a date using a calendar-style input.

It is useful when you need to collect a specific date instead of asking applicants to type it manually.

Common uses:

  • Business start date
  • Preferred delivery date
  • Contract start date
  • Date of birth
  • Event date

Example:
Business Start Date: [ Select Date ]

10. File Upload

The File Upload field allows applicants to attach documents to their registration form.

This is especially useful for B2B applications where you need supporting business documents before approving an applicant.

Common uses:

  • Resale certificate
  • Business license
  • Tax certificate
  • Company documents
  • Product catalog
  • Supporting documents

Example:
Upload Resale Certificate: [Choose File]

Applicants can upload the required document directly through the form.

11. Address Field

The Address Field is designed to collect a complete business or customer address.

It can be useful when you need location information for wholesale accounts, shipping, billing, or business verification.

Common information collected:

  • Address
  • Country
  • State / Region
  • City
  • Postal code

Common uses:

  • Business address
  • Shipping address
  • Company location
  • Billing address

12. Hidden Field

A Hidden Field stores information that is not visible to the applicant while they are filling out the form.

It can be useful for passing additional information with a submission without displaying that field to the customer.

Common uses:

  • Internal tracking information
  • Source or campaign information
  • Form-related values
  • Internal identifiers

Since the field is hidden, applicants do not need to enter or interact with it.

13. Section Header

The Section Header helps organize your form into clear sections.

It does not collect information from the applicant. Instead, it provides a heading or description that makes longer forms easier to understand and complete.

Common uses:

  • Business Details
  • Primary Contact
  • Business Information
  • Tax Information
  • Additional Information

Example:

Business Details

You can then place the relevant fields below the section header, such as Business Name, Tax ID, Website, and Business Address.

Choosing the Right Field

When creating a registration form, choose the field type based on the information you want to collect:

Field Best for
Text Field Short text responses
Email Field Email addresses
Phone Number Field Phone numbers
Number Field Numeric values
Text Area Longer responses
Dropdown Selecting one option from a list
Radio Buttons Selecting one visible option
Checkboxes Selecting multiple options
Date Picker Selecting a date
File Upload Uploading documents
Address Field Collecting address details
Hidden Field Storing information without showing it
Section Header Organizing fields into sections

Tip

Keep your registration form simple and only ask for information you actually need. Using the right field type makes the form easier for customers to complete and makes submitted applications easier for you to review.
