How to hide Cash on Delivery for selected shipping destinations
What you will achieve in this guide
Follow the feature-specific setup and testing instructions below. Check the supported pages and plan requirements before activating the feature.
Hide an otherwise eligible Cash on Delivery method when a supported shipping-destination condition matches.
When to use this guide
Use this where your business does not offer COD to certain destinations.
Before you begin
Open Apps → Rivio Checkout Customizer in the intended store. Use supported conditions from the current editor and record the exact amount, product, customer, or address basis before testing.
Worked example
Hide Cash on Delivery for one supported destination condition while keeping another payment method available.
Step-by-step instructions
- Confirm COD and an alternative method appear in a control checkout before applying a rule.
- Create a Hide payment rule and select the actual Cash on Delivery label returned by checkout.
- Choose a supported shipping country or destination input and select the disallowed destination.
- Save and activate the rule. Keep all other test inputs unchanged.
- Test an address matching the destination and a normally eligible address outside it.
- Confirm COD is hidden only for the matching case and an alternative method remains available.

Verify the result
| Test | Expected result or check |
|---|---|
| Matching destination | COD is hidden by the active rule. |
| Non-matching destination | COD remains if otherwise eligible. |
| COD absent before activation | Check Shopify payment availability first. |

Limitations
- A hide rule cannot enable an unavailable payment method.
- Use only destination inputs supplied by the payment-rule editor.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| The expected result does not appear | Check the saved state, exact feature configuration, supported page, and matching test inputs. |
| The preview and actual page differ | Use a real test checkout, completed order, or signed-in account; editor data is simulated. |
| A change has an unexpected effect | Repeat the same test with one relevant setting changed. Review other active rules before adding another copy. |
