How to Send Submission Notifications to Slack

Connect Rivio B2B Registration Forms to Slack so your team can receive application messages with a View submission button.

Before you begin

Use the intended service account and select the destination list, channel, spreadsheet tab, or endpoint. Decide whether you are testing a new-submission event or an approval event, and use a clearly identifiable test application.

Route application alerts to a channel

Slack receives a message with a View submission button through the configured incoming webhook. The webhook belongs to the intended workspace/channel; entering an unrelated channel label does not guarantee it overrides the webhook's destination.

Use a private test channel for setup, then follow the link to verify the record. A Slack alert notifies reviewers but does not give them Shopify access, a form assignment, or approval authority.

Set up this workflow

  1. Open Integrations and select Slack.

  2. Prepare an incoming webhook URL for the authorized Slack workspace and channel.

  3. Enter the webhook URL in the Slack settings.

  4. Set the optional channel name if your webhook setup supports it.

  5. Save and submit a non-spam test application.

  6. Confirm the intended Slack channel receives the message and its View submission link opens the correct record.

Expected result

The message refers to the expected application and its link opens the correct detail page.

Limits and important behavior

  • Slack access does not itself grant permission to review an application in Shopify.
  • Treat the webhook URL as a secret.
  • Manual and API approvals are included in the current approval-event release.

Troubleshooting and verification

If data does not reach the destination, confirm the application exists and is not Spam, then check the connection, event, and selected destination. Email-marketing services need an applicant email. Background failures do not undo a received submission.
