Create, edit, enable and disable a payment option
Maintain the payment choices shoppers can select before checkout.
Before you start
Open Features → COD verification → Payment options in your store. Use the current saved configuration and a controlled test cart. For storefront features, confirm the Rivio theme app embed is enabled on the theme being tested.
Step-by-step instructions
- Open Payment options and start a new option.
- Enter an internal Option name.
- Set Status to On when ready; Off keeps the saved option hidden.
- Choose the amount type and enter its required amount.
- Add eligibility conditions, discounts and customer-facing wording as needed.
- Review the amount preview, save, and test a matching cart.
Screenshot to add: Features → COD verification → Payment options — show the relevant settings described above. Hide customer details, contact blocklists and verification codes.
Example and use case
Name an option 30 percent deposit - orders over 1000 so staff can identify it. Use the description fields for the shopper-facing offer.
Limitations and important behaviour
- The option name is internal, as the form explains; it is not a substitute for customer-facing text.
- Creating an option does not prove the checkout charge or balance update succeeded.
- Multiple conditions narrow eligibility; test each boundary.
Test and confirm the result
Confirm the option appears when On, disappears when Off, and remains editable after saving.
Save configuration changes before testing. A settings preview confirms presentation; inspect the storefront, checkout or Shopify order for the actual outcome described in this guide.
