How to Hide COD Based on Cart Value Limits
What you will achieve in this guide
Follow this step-by-step documentation to configure, test, and deploy this feature to your live Shopify store.
Open Rivio Checkout Customizer
From your store's Shopify Admin, navigate to Apps and launch Rivio Checkout Customizer. If you haven't installed the app yet, visit the Shopify App Store and add it to your store.
The dashboard provides an immediate overview of active rules, execution telemetry, and checkout performance metrics across all connected sales channels.
Open the Getting Started Page
Once inside the app dashboard, review the guided setup sequence. We recommend completing the initial environment verification checklist before deploying custom rules:
Explore Payment & Shipping Customizations
Navigate to Rules & Logic to configure conditional rules that dynamically modify payment and delivery methods. Rivio provides three core rule actions:
Hide Gateways
Hide payment or shipping options based on cart total, tags, or risk scores.
Reorder Options
Prioritize high-conversion or lower-cost processing gateways at checkout.
Rename Titles
Customize gateway labels (e.g., clarify COD deposit instructions).
Configure Checkout Discounts
Configure dynamic checkout discount rules that apply automatically based on customer tiers, order items, or shipping countries with native Shopify Functions compatibility:
Apply tiered percentage discounts as order thresholds are crossed.
Prevent discount abuse by defining strict combination criteria with native coupons.
Limit wholesale tier pricing to verified customer company profiles.
Set up App-Only Rules (Functions)
For Shopify Plus merchants, enable native Shopify Functions to run conditional execution with 0ms server latency directly on Shopify's global edge network.
All logic executes directly within Shopify's checkout engine. No external API calls, zero third-party downtime, and no delay to checkout page rendering.
Explore Checkout Blocks
Enhance your checkout interface with modular UI extensions built for Checkout Extensibility. Easily drag and drop into any checkout position:
Add App Blocks in Your Shopify Checkout
Open your Shopify theme editor, navigate to Checkout, and click Add Block to insert Rivio blocks into your one-page or 3-step checkout:
Open your Shopify Theme Editor and select Checkout from the page selector.
Locate the section where you want to insert the block (e.g., Payment Methods or Shipping).
Click Add Block and select the desired Rivio Checkout Customizer component.
Configure block settings in the right sidebar (copy, styling, condition rules) and click Save.
Ensure your store is running on Shopify Checkout Extensibility. Legacy checkout.liquid is deprecated by Shopify and will not execute modern Functions.
Configure Customer Account Positions
Choose which customer types see custom checkout fields, gift notes, or payment rules during the checkout sequence:
Customize Checkout Styling
Match Rivio checkout elements seamlessly to your brand palette without writing custom code:
Native Theme Integration
Components inherit typography, colors, and button radii directly from your Shopify theme settings.
Custom CSS Overrides
Fine-tune colors, spacing, and micro-interactions for bespoke enterprise checkouts.
Review Your Analytics
Monitor rule execution metrics, conversion lift, and customer interaction telemetry directly inside your Rivio dashboard:
