Getting Started with Rivio B2B Registration Forms
What you will achieve in this guide
Follow this step-by-step documentation to configure custom B2B registration forms, approval workflows, and customer tagging.
Use this walkthrough to create a wholesale application form, display it on your Shopify store, receive a test application, and verify the approval result. Each stage has a separate saved setting and a result you can check.
Before you begin
Open Rivio B2B Registration Forms from the intended Shopify store. Have a dummy business name and a test email you control ready. Decide what qualifies a buyer and who will review the first applications. All current app features are included in the Free plan; Shopify plan requirements and connected-service charges are separate.
1. Create a form for your audience
Select Create a form and choose Wholesale Application, Retailer / Stockist, Trade Professional, Distributor / Bulk Buyer, or a blank form as appropriate.
Give it an internal name such as Demo Wholesale Application and a unique slug such as demo-wholesale. The name helps your team; the slug connects the saved form to its storefront block.
Review the generated questions. Keep a reachable applicant email, the business identity, and only the qualification details your reviewer needs. Add a supporting-document upload if your policy requires one.
Check labels, help text, required fields, upload restrictions, and mappings, then select Save.
2. Review the approval policy
Open the form’s Advanced settings and review After approval. Set an intentional customer tag such as demo-wholesale.
Decide whether company creation is appropriate. If your Shopify setup does not support the needed B2B resources, leave company creation off and use customer tags with your separately configured access tools.
For the first test, keep applications under manual review. Inspect active automatic rules so a broad rule does not approve the test before you review it.
Review applicant and merchant email settings, save, and preview the full form.
3. Publish and add the storefront block
Publish the saved form and copy its exact slug.
Open the Shopify theme editor and select the page template assigned to your application page. Check whether other pages share it.
Add Apps → Wholesale form in a supported section or block location and enter the slug. Choose inline display for a straightforward first test.
Save the theme, open the actual storefront page, and confirm the right questions appear. Publishing in the app does not add this block automatically.
4. Test receipt and validation
Try submitting with a required answer missing. Confirm the error identifies what the applicant must correct.
Complete the form with dummy business details and an email you control. If collecting documents, use a permitted dummy file within the configured size limit.
Submit and confirm the success message or configured redirect. Receipt should not be described as approved access.
Open Submissions, find the test by email or reference, and inspect the answers and file. Confirm the Pending status for your manual-review test. Check the merchant notification and application-received email separately.
5. Approve and check onboarding
Review the application and approve it only when its answers satisfy your test policy.
Open the linked Shopify customer. For a new email, inspect the created details; for an existing email, customer reuse with preserved name, phone, and prior tags is expected.
Confirm the configured approval tags were added. If company creation is enabled and available, inspect the linked company, location, and applicant contact.
Check the approval email and any configured integration approval event. Supported manual, API, and automatic approvals emit the approval event once.
Configure and verify pricing access, catalogs, payment terms, and tax settings separately where needed. Creating a customer, tag, segment, or company does not complete those configurations.
Example and expected result
A supplier collects a retailer’s business name, email, country, and resale document. Its reviewer checks the document before approving. The received application contains the original answers; approval links the customer and adds demo-wholesale. Optional company creation is checked separately. The supplier then verifies the pricing or catalog setup used by its store. Passing a file-upload check alone does not verify the business.
Troubleshooting
- No form on the page: compare publication status, saved slug, theme, and assigned page template.
- Cannot submit: inspect required questions, document limits, reCAPTCHA, blocked domains, and duplicate protection.
- Already approved when you expected Pending: inspect active rules in order; the first match wins.
- Approved but access is absent: inspect customer tags, optional company settings, and your separate access or catalog configuration.
- No external notification: confirm receipt and the decision in the app first, then inspect the relevant email or integration destination.
