How to Configure the Success Message or Redirect
What you will achieve in this guide
Follow this step-by-step documentation to configure custom B2B registration forms, approval workflows, and customer tagging.
Choose whether a Shopify registration submission displays a confirmation message or sends the applicant to another URL.
Before you begin
Save and publish the form, copy its exact slug, and identify the theme and page template you will edit. Check whether other pages share that template before adding or moving its app block.
Receipt is different from approval
After a successful submission, the app can show a message or redirect to a destination URL. Choose a message when the applicant should stay on the page and a redirect when you have a dedicated next-step page.
If manual review is required, say the application was received and will be reviewed. Do not say the buyer has wholesale access before approval. A redirect also does not replace checking that the application exists in Submissions.
Set up this workflow
Open the form Settings and select Content & behavior.
Find After submission and Submission action.
Choose Show a message and enter a clear success message, or choose the redirect action.
For a redirect, enter the destination URL in Redirect URL.
Save and submit a fresh test application.
Confirm the application is recorded and the applicant sees the intended message or destination.
Example
First show Thank you, our team will review your application after submission. Then test redirect mode using a thank-you page you created on the demo store.
Expected result
A successful submission shows the configured message or reaches the configured page; it is not proof of approval.
Limits and important behavior
- A successful submission message does not mean the application has been approved.
- Use wording such as We received your application when manual review is required.
- Test redirects on the storefront instead of relying only on the builder preview.
Troubleshooting and verification
If an applicant expects immediate access, review the success message wording: submission receipt is not approval. For redirects, check the saved URL and open it directly, then complete a fresh valid storefront submission to verify the destination.
Screenshots to add
Screenshot placeholder: Capture the relevant app screen for “How to Configure the Success Message or Redirect” after completing the setup. Show the controls used to open the form Settings and select Content & behavior. Add a second screenshot showing the result of this check: Confirm the application is recorded and the applicant sees the intended message or destination. Use dummy applicant details and mask any secrets.
