How to Test Your Form on Desktop and Mobile
What you will achieve in this guide
Follow this step-by-step documentation to configure custom B2B registration forms, approval workflows, and customer tagging.
Test the complete Shopify registration experience across screen sizes before relying on the form for live wholesale applications.
Before you begin
Save and publish the form, copy its exact slug, and identify the theme and page template you will edit. Check whether other pages share that template before adding or moving its app block.
Verify the complete journey on both layouts
A usable form needs readable labels, reachable controls, visible errors, and enough space for longer values. Popup closing and multi-step navigation need checking as well as the main submit button.
Compare a storefront submission with its recorded answers, then separately check success behavior, expected emails, approval effects, and integrations. Use fresh data where duplicate protection would block an identical repeat.
Set up this workflow
Save the form and theme-block configuration.
Open the intended storefront page on desktop.
Complete required inputs, select choices, and test permitted file uploads.
Repeat the test on mobile, including popup and multi-step navigation.
Check success behavior, notifications, and the resulting submission.
Approve a suitable test application and verify the expected customer, tags, and integrations.
Example
Complete the same demo application at desktop and phone widths, including choice fields, document upload, validation, and any popup or multi-step controls.
Expected result
Both layouts allow completion without hidden buttons, unreadable text, or clipped fields.
Limits and important behavior
- Use fresh test data when duplicate-submission protection applies.
- Do not assume the live preview proves that the published page has the correct slug.
- Check readable focus, labels, and error messages as well as visual styling.
Troubleshooting and verification
If the form does not load, compare the saved slug, publication status, page template, and theme. If a popup does not open, check its display mode and trigger; a timed or exit-intent popup does not behave like an inline form.
