Control where the verification popup appears, including Buy Now
Configure popup entry points and audience restrictions.
Before you start
Open Features → COD verification → Verification → At checkout / Who sees it in your store. Use the current saved configuration and a controlled test cart. For storefront features, confirm the Rivio theme app embed is enabled on the theme being tested.
Step-by-step instructions
- Open At checkout and review Show the popup on Buy Now.
- Enable it only if you want that additional entry point, then review Who sees it.
- Choose the available Where the popup appears setting.
- Add country exceptions where appropriate.
- Save and test the cart checkout button and the Buy Now button separately.
- Repeat with a destination or audience covered by your exclusions.
Screenshot to add: Features → COD verification → Verification → At checkout / Who sees it — show the relevant settings described above. Hide customer details, contact blocklists and verification codes.
Example and use case
A merchant enables the popup on Buy Now while excluding a country where the COD journey is not offered.
Limitations and important behaviour
- The interface states that Add to cart is never interrupted and that the cart Checkout button is the normal entry point.
- The Buy Now toggle widens where the popup appears; it does not make Add to cart trigger verification.
- Popup visibility is distinct from shipping availability and COD checkout restrictions.
Test and confirm the result
Test product-page and cart entry points on desktop and mobile, including an excluded case.
Save configuration changes before testing. A settings preview confirms presentation; inspect the storefront, checkout or Shopify order for the actual outcome described in this guide.
