Add a tag to verified orders
Label orders created after verification so staff can filter them in Shopify.
Before you start
Open Features → COD verification → Verification in your store. Use the current saved configuration and a controlled test cart. For storefront features, confirm the Rivio theme app embed is enabled on the theme being tested.
Step-by-step instructions
- Open the Verification tab.
- Enter a clear tag under Tag verified orders with, for example cod-verified.
- Save the settings.
- Complete verification and place a test order using your test-payment procedure.
- Open the order in Shopify Orders and inspect its tags.
- Search or filter Orders using the configured tag.
Screenshot to add: Features → COD verification → Verification — show the relevant settings described above. Hide customer details, contact blocklists and verification codes.
Example and use case
A fulfilment team uses cod-verified to review verified orders separately from orders where the shopper skipped verification.
Limitations and important behaviour
- The tag is applied when the order is created; requesting a code alone does not create a tagged order.
- An order tag does not collect payment or confirm fulfilment.
- Skipped verification should not be treated as verified.
Test and confirm the result
Compare one verified order with one permitted skipped journey and confirm staff can distinguish them.
Save configuration changes before testing. A settings preview confirms presentation; inspect the storefront, checkout or Shopify order for the actual outcome described in this guide.
