Configure blocked phone numbers and email addresses

Maintain the contact blocklists provided by the verification form.

Before you start

Open Features → COD verification → Verification → Who sees it in your store. Use the current saved configuration and a controlled test cart. For storefront features, confirm the Rivio theme app embed is enabled on the theme being tested.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open Who sees it and locate the blocked-contact fields.
  2. Add the intended phone numbers or email addresses using the format indicated beside each field.
  3. Keep the list limited to contacts your store has decided to block.
  4. Save.
  5. Test one matching contact in a controlled session.
  6. Test an unrelated contact to confirm legitimate shoppers can continue.

Screenshot to add: Features → COD verification → Verification → Who sees it — show the relevant settings described above. Hide customer details, contact blocklists and verification codes.

Example and use case

A merchant adds a known repeat-abuse email and verifies that the intended restriction appears for that contact.

Limitations and important behaviour

  • A contact list is not a fraud score, customer-tag rule or guarantee against alternate identities.
  • Phone matching and email matching should be tested separately; do not assume normalization or wildcard behaviour.
  • Keep actual blocked-contact data out of screenshots shared publicly.

Test and confirm the result

Record the exact entered format, visible result and non-matching result. If behaviour differs, provide support with redacted examples.

Save configuration changes before testing. A settings preview confirms presentation; inspect the storefront, checkout or Shopify order for the actual outcome described in this guide.
