Customize the verification Code step

Make code-entry instructions and available action labels clear.

Before you start

Open Settings → Code step in your store. Use the current saved configuration and a controlled test cart. For storefront features, confirm the Rivio theme app embed is enabled on the theme being tested.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open Settings → Code step.
  2. Review the heading and instructions supplied for code entry.
  3. Edit the available code-entry, confirmation and resend wording.
  4. Keep the instructions consistent with email delivery.
  5. Review the preview and save.
  6. Test correct and incorrect code entry using your own test contact.

Screenshot to add: Settings → Code step — show the relevant settings described above. Hide customer details, contact blocklists and verification codes.

Example and use case

A heading such as Enter your verification code tells shoppers what to do without implying that payment has already been completed.

Limitations and important behaviour

  • Changing text does not configure code expiry, resend limits or delivery infrastructure.
  • Do not promise a delivery time or number of attempts not established by the app.
  • Use only the fields available in the Code step of your installed version.

Test and confirm the result

Confirm the text fits mobile screens and the visible error and resend messages make sense in a real journey.

Save configuration changes before testing. A settings preview confirms presentation; inspect the storefront, checkout or Shopify order for the actual outcome described in this guide.
