Customize the Address step

Guide shoppers to provide complete delivery information.

Before you start

Open Settings → Address step in your store. Use the current saved configuration and a controlled test cart. For storefront features, confirm the Rivio theme app embed is enabled on the theme being tested.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open Settings → Address step.
  2. Review the available headings, field labels, placeholders and validation messages.
  3. Use address terms familiar to your customers.
  4. Configure GST collection and postal lookup in the verification settings when needed.
  5. Save and inspect the address preview.
  6. Test a complete address and an incomplete address.

Example and use case

A merchant serving multiple countries uses Postal code rather than a term that only makes sense in one market.

Limitations and important behaviour

  • Changing labels does not add shipping coverage or validate a GST number.
  • Postal lookup has coverage limitations, including the Ireland and Singapore exclusions shown in the app.
  • Do not imply that a label changes which order field stores the value.

Test and confirm the result

Test country selection, postal entry, city/state and the transition to the next step on mobile.
