How to Customize a Template
What you will achieve in this guide
Follow this step-by-step documentation to configure custom B2B registration forms, approval workflows, and customer tagging.
Customize a ready-made Shopify registration template by reviewing fields, validation, design, and approval settings before publication.
Before you begin
Choose the template that matches your audience, then inspect its questions, approval tags, and company-creation defaults. Decide which information your reviewer actually needs before adding more required questions.
Turn a starting point into your own form
Using a template creates a form you can edit. Adjust questions, option values, required fields, mappings, design, notifications, and approval settings to fit your process. The template is a shortcut to a sensible structure, not proof that its policy is right for your business.
Use a distinct internal name and slug, then remove questions your team never uses. If you change a question that a rule depends on, update the rule and test both matching and nonmatching applications.
Set up this workflow
Open Templates and select the starting template.
Select Use template to open its form builder.
Enter a unique name and slug for your new form.
Add, edit, reorder, or remove questions for your business.
Review settings for design, notifications, approval tags, and company creation, then save.
Preview and submit a test application before using the form with live customers.
Example
Use the Retailer / Stockist template, name it Demo Retailer Application, remove irrelevant questions, and add a sales-channel choice.
Expected result
The saved form asks only the questions your review team uses.
Limits and important behavior
- A template is a starting point, not an approval policy.
- Check conditional logic and approval rules after changing template fields.
- Do not duplicate unnecessary customer contact questions.
Troubleshooting and verification
If the form collects responses but does not grant wholesale access, inspect the application status and after-approval settings. A template supplies a starting configuration; pricing, catalogs, and access in your other tools still need their own setup.

Add a second screenshot showing the result of this check: Preview and submit a test application before using the form with live customers. Use dummy applicant details and mask any secrets.
