How to Export Submissions to CSV

What you will achieve in this guide

Follow this step-by-step documentation to configure custom B2B registration forms, approval workflows, and customer tagging.

EXPECTED SETUP TIME 5-10 Minutes
COMPATIBILITY All Shopify Themes & Plans
TECHNICAL DIFFICULTY Zero Code Required

Export Shopify registration applications to CSV for review, record keeping, and analysis outside Rivio B2B Registration Forms.

Before you begin

Find the intended application by form, reference, and applicant email. Read its current status and original answers before changing a decision. Approval can affect customer tags, company records, emails, and connected integrations.

What to inspect in an export

CSV export makes submission answers available for spreadsheet review or an authorized handoff. Customer, Company, and Address block answers are split into separate columns rather than being kept as one unreadable grouped cell.

Compare the downloaded record count and one known row with the inbox before using the file. Do not assume every current list filter controls the export unless the downloaded result confirms it. An export does not sync changes back into the app.

Set up this workflow

  1. Open Submissions and review the forms and records you need.

  2. Set filters for your review task where relevant.

  3. Select Export CSV.

  4. Download the generated file and open it in your spreadsheet application.

  5. Check the exported columns and included records before relying on the file.

  6. Store the export appropriately and confirm grouped company, address, and customer answers are understandable.

Example

Export a small set of test applications containing Customer and Address blocks. Open the CSV and compare one row with its submission detail.

Expected result

Grouped answers are represented in separate columns and the export includes the intended records.

Limits and important behavior

  • Smart-block answers are split into separate columns.
  • Check which records the export includes rather than assuming it follows every current filter.
  • CSV exports can contain personal and business information; share them only with authorized users.

Troubleshooting and verification

If a value seems missing, inspect the columns for smart-block sub-fields rather than searching for one combined Company or Address cell. Compare one exported test row with its original submission and confirm that the selected filters cover the intended records.

Screenshots to add

Show the controls used to open Submissions and review the forms and records you need. Add a second screenshot showing the result of this check: Store the export appropriately and confirm grouped company, address, and customer answers are understandable. Use dummy applicant details and mask any secrets.
