How to Customize the Submit Button
What you will achieve in this guide
Follow this step-by-step documentation to configure custom B2B registration forms, approval workflows, and customer tagging.
Configure the appearance and width of the Shopify registration form submit button without editing theme code.
Before you begin
Open the selected form’s Appearance settings for visual changes. Check every page and popup using that form, because the same saved appearance is reused. Keep a copy of existing Custom CSS before changing it.
Make the action clear
The submit button has typography, color, width, and shape settings. A descriptive action label helps an applicant understand that they are submitting an application rather than immediately gaining approved access.
Half-width button layout is centered as described by the app's helper. Button appearance does not change required fields or approval decisions. Check translated built-in text and the actual storefront behavior rather than assuming a styled button bypasses validation.
Set up this workflow
Open the form Settings and select Appearance.
Locate Submit button.
Set background color and text color with readable contrast.
Choose button text size and corner radius.
Select full-width or half-width button layout and save.
Test the storefront button after completing valid required inputs.
Example
Change the button label to Submit wholesale application and choose a contrasting text and background color.
Expected result
The button communicates the action clearly and stays readable in the storefront form.
Limits and important behavior
- The half-width layout is described in the app as centered automatically.
- Storefront button translations use the theme extension locale files.
- Custom styling does not bypass required-field validation.
Troubleshooting and verification
If the button is readable but submission fails, inspect required fields, upload errors, and spam protection. Appearance settings change how the button looks; they do not change validation. Check the button on mobile and in any popup using the same form.
