Add a fixed discount to a payment option

Offer a fixed reduction with a selected payment choice.

Before you start

Open Features → COD verification → Payment options → Discount in your store. Use the current saved configuration and a controlled test cart. For storefront features, confirm the Rivio theme app embed is enabled on the theme being tested.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the payment option.
  2. Choose the fixed-amount discount type.
  3. Enter the intended value in the store currency.
  4. Add an accurate label and suitable cart eligibility.
  5. Save and review the preview.
  6. Test an eligible checkout and a smaller cart near the offer boundary.

Example and use case

A merchant offers 100 off an eligible payment option for carts of at least 1500, then checks the discount in checkout.

Limitations and important behaviour

  • Do not assume a discount greater than the eligible cart amount will behave as intended.
  • The label does not set the reduction; use the numeric discount setting.
  • The offer does not prove automatic stacking with another promotion.

Test and confirm the result

Check that the actual reduction, amount due now and remaining amount agree with the offer wording.
