Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
RivioApps ("RivioApps", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you provide to us. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we collect from website visitors and clients who use our ecommerce development, app development, and digital marketing services, how we use it, and the choices you have about your information.
2. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information when you visit our website (https://www.rivioapps.com) or engage us for development or marketing services across Shopify, Shopify Plus, WordPress, WooCommerce, Wix, ShopLine, Webflow, or related platforms.
It does not cover any third-party websites, platforms, or services that you might access through links provided by us. These sites and platforms operate independently from RivioApps, and they have their own privacy practices. Any personal information you provide to these external websites or platforms will be subject to their own privacy policies. We're not responsible for the actions or policies of these independent sites or platforms, nor do we control their content or privacy practices.
3. Information We Collect
We collect different types of information depending on how you interact with us:
Website Visitors
- Contact Information: Name, email address, phone number, company name, and job title, when you submit inquiries through our contact form, request a quote, or apply for careers.
- Usage Data: We use Google Analytics and other tracking tools to collect information about your website browsing activity, such as your browser type, operating system, IP address, device identifiers, referral pages you came from, and date and time stamps.
Clients and Project Stakeholders
When you engage RivioApps for ecommerce development, custom app development, website development, or digital marketing services, we may collect:
- Project & Business Information: Business name, store URLs, platform login or staging access (Shopify, WordPress, Wix, ShopLine, WooCommerce, Webflow, etc.), project requirements, and related business documentation necessary to scope and deliver your project.
- Store & Order Data: Where a project requires access to your store's backend (e.g., building or customizing a Shopify app, WooCommerce plugin, or ShopLine integration), we may access order details, product/collection data, customer shipping details, and shipping rate configurations solely as needed to build, test, and deliver the requested functionality.
- Payment Information: We do not collect, store, process, or have access to your customers' payment card information, bank account information, or other payment credentials. Payment processing on your store remains handled by your chosen platform (Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, ShopLine, etc.) and your selected payment providers.
- Digital Marketing Data: If you engage us for digital marketing services (SEO, paid advertising, social media marketing, email marketing, or analytics setup), we may collect or access campaign performance data, ad account access, analytics dashboards, customer segment data (aggregated/anonymized where possible), and marketing platform credentials necessary to perform the agreed services.
- Contact Information: Names, emails, and phone numbers of your team members or stakeholders involved in the project, for the purpose of communication and project delivery.
- Usage Data: We may collect usage data within any tools, dashboards, or apps we build or manage on your behalf, to understand functionality performance and improve our deliverables.
Third-Party Tracking
We use third-party tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Meta (Facebook) Pixel, LinkedIn Pixel, and similar tools on our website and, where applicable, on client projects we manage. These tools collect non-personally identifiable information about usage patterns. Some of these tools might also collect personal information based on their own privacy policies. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for more information.

We are committed to transparency and user control over your data, and we continue to explore ways to give clients and website visitors clearer control over the information they share with us.
5. Disclosure of Your Information
- We may share your information with law enforcement or other government officials if required by law.
- We will not share your information with any other third party without your consent, except where necessary to deliver the services you've engaged us for (e.g., sharing configuration details with a hosting provider or platform partner at your direction).
6. Consent
When you provide us with personal information by submitting a contact form, requesting a quote, engaging us for a project, visiting our site, or any other way, you are implying your consent for us to collect and use that information solely for the purpose of communication, project delivery, and site functionality.
7. Data We Collect from Third-Party Sources
We may receive your personal data from third parties, such as platform partners, referral partners, and other sources. This information is not collected by us but by a third party and is subject to that third party's own separate privacy and data collection policies. We do not have control or input over how your personal data is handled by third parties.
You have the right to review and rectify this information. If you have questions, please first contact the relevant third party for further information about your personal data.
Our website, applications, and services may contain links to other websites, applications, and services maintained by third parties (including but not limited to Shopify, WordPress.org, Wix, and ShopLine). The information practices of such other services are governed by their own privacy statements, which you should review to better understand their privacy practices.
8. Brand Likeness and Testimonials
RivioApps reserves the right to share and promote client likeness through testimonials, case studies, and/or reviews unless we receive a written request not to from the specific client or company.
RivioApps also reserves the right to share communications gathered throughout a project as testimonials and submissions for third-party and website promotion unless we receive a written request not to from the specific client or company.
9. Purpose and Legal Basis for the Processing of Personal Data
We collect and use personal data about you with your consent to provide, maintain, and develop our products and services and to understand how to improve them.
These purposes include:
Providing, Developing, and Improving our Products and Services
- Delivering, maintaining, debugging, and improving the websites, apps, and marketing services we build and manage.
- Enabling you to access RivioApps services.
- Providing you with technical and customer support.
Organizing and Delivering Advertising and Marketing
- Sending you newsletters and other marketing communications about current and future services, events, surveys, and promotions held by us or on our behalf.
- Organizing events, registering attendees, and scheduling meetings.
Where we process your personal data to provide a product or service, we do so because it is necessary to perform contractual obligations. All other processing is necessary for our legitimate interests to provide products and services, maintain our relationship with you, and protect our business, for example, against fraud.
Consent will be required to initiate services with you. New consent will be required if any changes are made to the type of data collected. Within our contract, if you fail to provide consent, some services may not be available to you.
10. Security
To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to ensure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed. All data collected by RivioApps is stored in safe and secured locations, and platform credentials or store access granted to us for project delivery are handled with restricted, authorized-personnel-only access.
11. Data Retention
We will retain your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, or for the duration of an active project and a reasonable period afterward for support purposes, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
12. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or legal guardian and are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us. We will take steps to remove that information from our servers if we learn that we have collected personal data from children without parental consent.
13. Platform-Specific Data Processing (Shopify, WordPress, Wix, ShopLine)
RivioApps provides ecommerce and web development services across multiple platforms, including Shopify, Shopify Plus, WordPress, WooCommerce, Wix, and ShopLine.
Where a project requires us to build, customize, or maintain a store, app, plugin, or integration on your behalf, we act as a data processor with respect to certain personal data processed through your store or site, including:
- Order, cart, checkout, and shipping-related information, processed solely to build or deliver the requested functionality (e.g., custom shipping rules, checkout customizations, discount logic, store locators, or similar features).
- Customer information (such as shipping destination, contact details, or order content), processed only as necessary to develop, test, and deliver the requested feature — never for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes on our part.
Unless explicitly agreed otherwise in your project scope, customer personal data (names, emails, phone numbers, shipping/billing addresses, and payment information) is processed transiently during development and testing, and is not permanently stored by our systems beyond what is required for project delivery and agreed support.
You (the client/merchant) remain the data controller of customer information processed through your store, site, or app. RivioApps acts as a data processor or service provider delivering development and support services on your behalf.
For clients subject to GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar privacy regulations, a standard Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is available upon request. Requests may be submitted to support@rivioapps.com.
14. Digital Marketing Services
Where RivioApps provides digital marketing services (including SEO, paid social/search advertising, email marketing, or analytics setup and reporting), we may be granted access to your advertising accounts, analytics dashboards, or customer email lists solely to perform the agreed marketing activities.
- We do not use client marketing data for any purpose beyond delivering the agreed services and reporting on their performance.
- Any customer lists or audience data provided to us for campaign purposes remain your property, and you remain the data controller for that data.
- We recommend all client-provided marketing data be shared through secure, access-controlled means (e.g., platform-level user invitations rather than raw data exports) wherever possible.
